Both Colton Joint Unified School District and Mountain View School District in California have large areas of sports field to maintain and needed a reliable, minimal maintenance mower to achieve this. Find out how the Pegasus mower has helped these operators provide their schools with quality playing fields.
Since the creation of the Trimax Pegasus, it has been the mower of choice for Turf farms and council contractors in wide area mowing applications.
At the heart of Trimax’s success lies a dedicated innovation team that places customers at the core of product enhancement. A collaborative approach, fueled by direct customer input, has culminated in the development of a mower that excels in various scenarios, while being easy on the wallet when it comes to maintenance.
To gain insights into the real-world impact of the Pegasus, Trimax engaged with three grounds care professionals who rely on the machine for maintaining sports fields. Their experiences underscore the transformative nature of the Pegasus Mower.
A sentiment echoed by users is the significant time and cost savings the Trimax Pegasus delivers. Take, for instance, Jose Gonzalez, the Equipment Mechanic at Colton Joint Unified School District in California, who shared, “You just hook up to the tractor attachment and you go mo. We do about two schools a day and then we do the perimeters as well. Our biggest field, if we cut that with our smaller mower it would take about six to eight hours. With the Pegasus it takes about two hours, so the cutting time is a huge difference. It helped us out a lot.” Jose also touched on the low maintenance requirements, stating, “The only time the machine is here, is for greasing and cleaning. It doesn’t even come in for blades because the last set lasted a year. It’s a great machine.”
The Pegasus Mower’s design shines through in its versatility, adeptly handling both rugged and smooth terrain. With a cutting range of 10-100mm (3/8 – 4 1/3″) and dual rollers, the Pegasus tackles tall grass in challenging conditions while maintaining precision in low-cut scenarios. When asked about the versatility of the Pegasus, Stefan Tread Jay from Colton Joint Unified School District said “The cut that the deck was producing was a very good cut. It didn’t matter if it was very tall grass or short grass. The cut was always good and the discharge, you didn’t leave big piles of grass everywhere.”
Jose, when commenting on the roller system said, “The rollers are amazing because it’s basically an articulating deck system. It follows the slopes, goes through uneven terrain, valleys and ups-and-downs, you’re never going to scalp anything, this also saves your blades”. This versatility is an advantage often commented on by contractors, as they feel it helps them get the most out of their mowers.
When asked if Jose Gonzalez would recommend the Pegasus mower, he stated “I’ve noticed the guys sometimes skip a week or two and the grass is really tall, the Pegasus just keeps going. I would say look into the Pegasus because it cuts down your cutting time and it frees you up to do other things, it makes your job a whole lot easier. I recommend it. It not only just does the job, it does a great job and it’s very simple to maintain.” Jose’s endorsement encapsulates the impact the Pegasus mower has on productivity, efficiency, and overall job satisfaction. With its high performance, straightforward maintenance, and capability to handle various terrains, the Pegasus Mower emerges as an indispensable tool that allows groundskeepers to elevate their field maintenance to new heights.
